Mirar lo que he encontrado en una review de harmony central.......es una parrafada pero es lo que hay jjejejeje;)
Features : 10
The Aria Pro II is an Explorer copy made in Japan in the first half of the 1980s with loads of features, distinguishing it quite a lot from the Gibson original.
The body shape looks very similar on the first view, but having the Avenger in front of your belly shows a way much ergonomic. On the sharp edges, the body gets slimmer, which is nice, as the whole guitar gets lighter.
The body is made of massive wood, not plywood, altough I can't tell exactly what kind of wood. As my Avenger was eavily used during its 25 years lifespan, the blueburst colour on the edges is meanwhile gone, revealing a bright kind of wood - I think it might be maple or ash.
The 2-piece neck is made of maple with a rosewood fingerboard, surrounded by a nice creamwhite binding. The headstock is also painted in blueburst, very nice. Although apparently made for harder rock and metal guitar players, the fretboard has only 20 frets. The nut is matched to the Floyd Rose licensed tremolo, you can fix the strings after tuning them with the headstock tuners, using the tremolo's fine tuners. The fretboard hat a slightly round diametre; the neck's shape is very flat. Both together, the guitar is perfect for easy and fast playing.
The tremolo is pretty nice, it's black as the whole hardware, and holds the tuning very well. You can do dive bombs easily without getting tuning problems. The only problem is, that the screws are not very hard and tend to get destroyed when using non-proper tools.
As an Explorer clone, the pups of the Avenger are two humbuckers, of course. With a standard three-way-switch you can choose the standard pup combinations. In contrast to the original Explorer, the Avenger has only one tone knob and one volume knob. But, a very great feature of the Avenger is the push-pull function of the tone knob, splitting the humbuckers and using the outer coils in singlecoil mode. This opens a whole new world of sounds to this guitar, allowing you to even play bluesy tones or twangy country picking.
All in all, the features of this guitar are awesome, allowing you to play loads of different styles.
Sound : 10
The sound of the build in humbuckers is strong and powerful. The bridge pup has a rich trebly sound, which never gets annoying - a perfect sound for leads and crunchy sounds; the neck pup is bassy and full, ideal for blues rock or heavier, bassy rhythm sounds. Both pups together make a great clean rhythm sound with a light jingle-jangle feeling.
With the pups split into singlecoil mode, the whole sound gets treblier and lighter - perfect for rhythm parts.
Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Well, as this guitar is about 25 years old, I can't tell you much about its factory set-up. :-)
The guitar's finish is great, the neck's binding and the frets are perfect, the body's finish seemed to be very nice, too (at the time the guitar was new). The only flaw are the weak screws of the Floyd Rose Licensed Tremolo.
Reliability/Durability : 8
After adjusting the tremolo and tightening its screws, I would say that this guitar is absolutely stage-proof. :-) Actually, I gigged with this guitar, and would always do it again. Although, I would never gig without a backup guitar, no matter what kind of model. You never know what will happen, and if it's just a broken string.
Due to the bad tremolo screws, the Avenger gets only 8 points in this category.
Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with them.
Overall Rating : 10
Finally I found my dream guitar. Thanks to its great electronic, the Avenger is as versatile as a guitar can be. With a tuning-stable tremolo system, a great neck and a fantastic body shape, this guitar is definitely perfect.
I've been playing electric guitar for over 10 years. Until I bought the Avenger, I used an Aria Pro II Mad Axe (not comparable to the quality of the Avenger, the Mad Axe is a pretty cheap guitar made in Korea) for rock and harder stuff, and a Danelectro Dano 59 for blues and blues rock. I always changed guitars, which became unnecessary with the Avenger. This guitar is a real great player - would I loose it, I'd buy a new one for sure.
