The 550EX came in GK or SD (GK = A variant of black, SD = a kind of 'silver sand' finish)with matching headstock and the inlays were mirrored dots. (copper coloured)
Also, the neck was the super wizard not the original, and there was never a block heel model.
Other than that the specs are the same. V8/S1/V8 pups, original edge, basswood body with AANJ.
I happen to own a 550EX. :P
